stag head

Just the antlers to go... they're proving tricky.

aztec cross stitch

I fell for this All Saints top grabbing it up when it went into the sale (with the excuse that when I wasn't wearing it, it will forever hang on my wall and it does).
This Buffalo card from the London Graphics centre together with all the Aztec patterns in current fashion trends got me doodling.
Work in progress.

cross stitch sugar skull

I went for a meal round a good friend of mine recently, sitting in her loo I was met by dozen kitsch fantastic plastic Virgin Mary's, a dozen shades of tacky.

I've just started painstakingly copying out a cross stitched stag head from a vintage shirt I bought at Wolf & Gypsy in the Brighton a few years back. But the 3 shades of brown got me pinning for something a little more colourful.

This will be a challenge...

colour, colour, make and do

Met my mum after work today at our local John Lewis' haberdashery department - treated myself to a selection of kitsch and colourful wool, and got a belated Christmas present from my mother in the way of the Cath Kidston Stitch! book... I'm gonna have me some fun making some of these gems! Can't wait.
After my mum had seen how we'd dress the bed back in the children's section in our store, she vowed to have the fushia pink childs chanderleir to go with her fantasy bedroom, edecked with Pip bedding and accessories. One day mum... one day.

cross stitch Bambi

I started copying this design from a cross stitch I stumbled upon googling around this summer, but it's upsetting me to use up my favourite colour threads (very sad I know). Hence Bambi two's lack of body... I shall start searching for some replacement pink shrimp fluorescent yarn asap, frame this bugger and get it up on my wall.

summer work

Playing a spot of catchup, here's a few snippets from my most resent sketchbooks.
